A look at the present-day panorama of art in Eastern Europe

October 2004 – Fine Arts Academy, Florence

This encounter focused on the panorama of art in Eastern Europe, a rich, fascinating mosaic of countries whose various historical, cultural and religious contexts are also reflected in their experimentations in the realm of contemporary art.

The variegated panoramas were explored thanks to the testimonies of four guests: Maja Bajevic (artist, Sarajevo and Paris), Giacinto di Pietrantonio (Director, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Bergamo), Lóránd Hegyi, (Director, Museum of Modern Art, St. Etienne, France) andEmmerich Oross (Independent Film Producer, Director and Author, Budapest).

In collaboration with the Hungarian Academy in Rome and the Fine Arts Academy in Florence. The encounter was followed by a screening of the film, Bolse Vita, by the Hungarian director, Ibolya Fekete.
